Coldest Night Yet for the Interior - When Will the Next Cold Wave Arrive?

Cyprus experienced its coldest night of the winter so far, with temperatures dropping to 1.2 degrees Celsius in Athallas and between 2 and 3 degrees Celsius in several inland areas. In the mountains, the temperature reached -3 degrees Celsius in Troodos Square and -5 to -6 degrees Celsius in the Chionistra area. Despite the intense nighttime cold, daytime temperatures are gradually rising, expected to reach 16-18 degrees Celsius by Friday. However, from Saturday, the arrival of a new cold air mass from the north is expected, which will cause a noticeable drop in temperature and possible snowfall in the mountains. Local rains are expected on Friday and more over the weekend, but without a significant risk of thunderstorms.
