Cyclist Arrested After Attacking Police Officer, Found with Drugs
Yesterday, police arrested a 33-year-old man in Limassol following a chase. The man initially ignored a police signal to stop and attempted to flee on a bicycle, eventually falling and continuing on foot. During the arrest, he resisted and attacked the police officers. A subsequent search revealed 26 packages of cannabis (20 grams), 19 packages of methamphetamine (9 grams), and €442 in cash in his possession. The 33-year-old was initially arrested for resisting and assaulting the police officers, as well as for causing disturbance and disrupting the peace. He was then re-arrested for illegal possession of drugs with the intent to supply to another person. Police are investigating the case and the 33-year-old remains in custody to facilitate investigations.
