Cypriot-Flagged Ship Stranded in the Arabian Gulf, Ministry of Shipping Monitoring Developments

The Ministry of Shipping is closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz, where a ship under the Cypriot flag is stranded. Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanoli stated that there are currently no impacts on the cruise sector in Cyprus, but the potential impact on the supply chain will depend on the duration of the crisis. The importance of safety of human life and seafarers was emphasized. The Ministry is cooperating with European partners for diplomatic solutions and monitoring meetings of the International Maritime Council. Cyprus expresses its solidarity with the countries of the Arabian Gulf. The possibility of impacts on energy and supply is being considered, with preparations for taking measures if necessary.
