Cyprus FA President Encourages Referees to Maintain High Standards

The President of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), Charis Loizidis, attended the opening of the mid-season refereeing seminar for First Division referees and assistant referees. He thanked the referees for their efforts so far, emphasizing the need to continue with the same zeal and increased effort, given the growing competitiveness of the matches. He likened the current phase of the championship to the half-time of a Cup match, where the team is ahead but still has a half to play to secure the win. For his part, the President of the Refereeing Committee, Antonio Damato, expressed his gratitude for the support of the CFA towards refereeing. He stressed that this support is important for the effort to upgrade the level of Cypriot referees and change the public's perception of them. Mr. Damato acknowledged that progress has been made, but emphasized that there is still work to be done to achieve the desired results. The refereeing committee aims for continuous improvement and strengthening the credibility of refereeing in Cypriot football. This meeting marks the commitment of the CFA and the Refereeing Committee to support and upgrade refereeing, so as to contribute to the smooth and fair conduct of the championships.
