Cyprus Falls in World Happiness Report: Global Rankings Revealed

Cyprus is experiencing a continuous decline in the World Happiness Report, ranking 62nd in 2024 compared to 39th in 2019. The report, based on research from the University of Oxford, examines factors such as GDP, life expectancy, generosity, and freedom. Finland remains at the top for the ninth consecutive year, followed by Iceland and Denmark. Israel's presence in 8th place is surprising, given the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Costa Rica is the only Latin American country in the top ten. The United States ranks 23rd, with no English-speaking country appearing in the top ten for the second consecutive year. The research highlights the importance of cooperation and solidarity for the well-being of societies. The countries with the lowest scores are Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.
