Cyprus’ Harmonized Inflation at 0.8% for 2025

Harmonized inflation in Cyprus remained at 0.1% in December 2025, the same as in November, recording the lowest rate in the European Union. For the entire year of 2025, harmonized inflation was 0.8%. According to data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus and Eurostat, the categories of Recreation and Culture (5.1%) and Restaurants and Hotels (4.4%) had the largest positive impact on inflation in December, while the categories of Clothing and Footwear (-7.9%) and Housing, Water, Electricity and Gas (-3.2%) showed the largest decline. Compared to November 2025, the largest changes were observed in the categories of Transport (-1.7%) and Restaurants and Hotels (-0.9%). In the economic categories, the largest change was recorded in Energy (-5.4%). In the Eurozone, inflation slowed to 1.9% in December 2025, from 2.1% in November, while in the EU it fell to 2.3%. Cyprus, France and Italy recorded the lowest annual inflation rates, while Romania, Slovakia and Estonia recorded the highest.
