Cyprus Tourism Sector Faces Cancellations, Summer Remains Stable

The Cyprus Hotel Association (CHA) and the Association of Tourist Operators of Cyprus (ACTO) are reporting cancellations for April and May, as well as a decrease in new bookings for the rest of the tourist season. However, the summer season does not appear to be significantly affected so far. Both associations are calling for an urgent meeting with the government to make decisions to address the impacts. ACTO will request representations from the US to lift the travel advisory they have issued for Cyprus. They also urge for calm and preparation for a possible extension of the current situation.
