Cyprus: Vafeadis Presents New Electromobility Plan, Updates on 2025 Progress

Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis, presented the progress of the Ministry's policies and projects for 2025, emphasizing electromobility, road projects, ports, airports, and public transport. The Ministry's policy is based on four pillars: faster transportation, green transition, better infrastructure, and easier citizen service. In the context of electromobility, a new grant scheme until 2030 was announced, as the transition to electric vehicles still requires state support due to the high cost. By 2025, approximately 2,500 electromobility grants, totaling €21.5 million, had been awarded. The goal is to have around 85,000 electric vehicles circulating in Cyprus by 2030. Simultaneously, strengthening the network of public charging stations is being considered.
