The Deputy Minister of Migration, Nicolas Ioannidis, announced the promotion of significant reforms in asylum, refugee, and migration issues. These reforms include the introduction of screening controls, the establishment of an independent national mechanism for monitoring fundamental rights, and new parameters of solidarity and burden-sharing at the European level. These changes are part of the framework of the new European Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the upcoming vote on the new Refugee Law. The Deputy Minister stressed the need for timely adaptation to the new procedures and their correct implementation, as well as the effort to rationalize and digitize the procedures for legal migration.
