The 38-year-old Serb defeated Pedro Martinez (Spain, No. 71) with a comprehensive score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 and advanced to the second round of the Melbourne Grand Slam. There, the great 'Nole', who has reached 100 wins at the Australian Open and is ranked No. 4 in the world, will face Italian qualifier Francesco Maestrelli (No. 141).
