EAC and OKYPY Agree on Photovoltaic Installations at Hospitals

The EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) and OKYPY (State Health Services Organisation) signed an agreement for the installation of photovoltaic systems in the parking areas of Limassol General Hospital and Famagusta General Hospital. The total capacity of the systems is expected to reach 3.5 MW (2.7 MW in Limassol and 0.8 MW in Famagusta). The photovoltaic panels will be installed on metal canopies, providing shade and energy utilization. The EAC will provide design, licensing, technical evaluation, and supervision services. The agreement builds on the successful collaboration between the two organizations for the installation of a photovoltaic system at Nicosia General Hospital, which has been operational since October 2024. The Ministers of Energy and Health emphasized the importance of the green transition and reducing the energy costs of hospitals.
