Eight Arrests in Targeted Preventive Policing Operations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive preventive policing operations across the island, aiming to prevent criminal activities and enhance public safety. The operations included organized patrols in urban areas, checks of drivers and passengers, and inspections of premises. During the operations, eight individuals were arrested for various offenses, including causing grievous bodily harm, illegal possession of an offensive weapon, illegal stay in Cyprus, and illegal possession of property. Additionally, 142 traffic violations were reported, with 40 related to driving under the influence of alcohol. Four vehicles were confiscated as part of the police investigations. Policing operations continue daily with increased presence and targeted checks. The goal of the police authorities is to protect citizens, maintain public order, and suppress crime, with an emphasis on prevention and immediate action.
