Evacuation Status for Akrotiri Until Friday

The Ministry of Interior announced that the situation in the Akrotiri Municipal District will remain in an evacuation status until Friday, March 6th, for a situation assessment. This decision follows recent events requiring precautionary measures for the safety of residents. Furthermore, residents of Timi, Anarita, Mandria, Ormideia, Xylofagou, and Xylotymbou are being informed via messages from Local Authorities and the Civil Defence Force regarding temporary accommodation points, in case evacuation becomes necessary. Communication was also made with the Community Leader of Pyla to inform the community's residents. Civil Defence teams continue to patrol the Akrotiri area, providing assistance and guidance to residents who have been displaced from their homes. The government is closely monitoring the situation and is ready to take additional measures if needed.
