Fire Prevention Measures Revisited: Concerns Remain Over Preparedness

The Parliamentary Committee on the Environment discussed fire prevention measures for the upcoming summer yesterday. Relevant services presented the state of readiness of the state mechanism, however, it was pointed out that the discussion is repeated every year with similar results. The Forestry Department reported the strengthening of the fire fleet, while the Fire Service presented studies for staffing stations and creating new ones. Despite the improvements, MPs expressed concerns about the adequacy of the measures, noting that every March everything seems perfect, while every July and August catastrophic fires are faced.
