Flu Vaccination Rates High, COVID-19 Vaccination Remains Low in Cyprus

In Cyprus, approximately 110,000 citizens have been vaccinated against seasonal influenza, representing a satisfactory response compared to the COVID-19 vaccination, which remains low with only 3,800 vaccinations. 75% of vulnerable groups have already received the flu vaccine. The Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Health, Elissavet Konstantinou, encouraged citizens to get vaccinated against the flu through their personal doctors and against COVID-19 at the Ministry of Health Vaccination Centers. Simultaneously, hospital admissions have doubled in recent days, while ICU admissions remain at expected levels. The epidemic wave is on the rise, as happens every year during this period.
