Government: 'No New Incidents - Our Air Defence Systems are Fully Ready'

The Government Spokesman, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, sent a message of calm and increased vigilance following reports of explosions and flying objects in the sky, as well as incidents with drones. He clarified that there was no official report of an incident in the Republic of Cyprus, but competent services are in constant monitoring. He emphasized that Cyprus's air defence systems are fully ready. Referring to the drones, he confirmed incidents at the British Base and two drones that were shot down, but denied any missile attack against Cyprus. He stressed that drones fly at low altitude and with specific characteristics, creating operational challenges. He also referred to the President's contacts with the British Prime Minister regarding the use of the British Bases and the need for clear coordination.
