Housing Finance Organisation: Processes for Sale of NPLs

The Housing Finance Organisation (HFO) is in the process of becoming independent from KEDIPES, expected to be completed in the summer of 2026, and is simultaneously promoting its technological upgrade, aiming for completion in 2027. A strategic goal of the HFO is to reduce its portfolio of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs), and the sale of part of it is being considered. The General Director of the Organisation, Christoforos Kaplani, called on borrowers with NPLs to contact the HFO to find sustainable solutions. The HFO has approved a significant number of housing loans in recent years (265 in 2022, 372 in 2023, 440 in 2024), while the technological upgrade will enable the provision of new products and services, such as debit and credit cards and electronic banking.
