Independent Firm to Evaluate Candidates for KΟA General Manager Position, Three Cases Filed with Police

The Cyprus Sports Organisation (KΟA) is in the process of hiring a new General Manager, a position that has been vacant since July 2024 due to a court decision. The KΟA's board of directors has decided to assign the evaluation of the 24 candidates to an independent firm, aiming to ensure transparency and meritocracy. To achieve this, the candidates' names will be coded with numbers. Simultaneously, the former Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Giorgos Panteli, has filed three cases with the Police regarding potential irregularities in the management of the KΟA, including land subleasing, the conclusion of a collective agreement, and abuse of power. One of these cases, the land subleasing, is already under investigation.
