Iran Urges US to Resist 'Destructive Influences' Ahead of Netanyahu Visit

Iran has called on the United States to resist pressures that it believes could undermine talks on Iran's nuclear program, ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump. Tehran expresses hope that Washington will make independent decisions, unaffected by “destructive influences” that could destabilize the region. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, stated that recent talks with the US aimed to assess the seriousness of the American side and that, despite distrust, there is enough understanding to continue the dialogue. However, Iran insists on its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes. Meanwhile, a senior Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, is in Oman, where previous talks with the US were held. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the latest developments in the region and further explore prospects for resuming negotiations. Tehran accuses Israel of pressuring the US to adopt a tougher stance towards Iran, particularly regarding its missile program. Iran assures that its nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes and that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons.
