Iranian Parliament: Washington is Preparing a Ground Attack

The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated today that the United States is planning a ground attack, while simultaneously conducting public diplomatic efforts to end the war. Ghalibaf called on Iranians to unite, emphasizing that the country is involved in a major global war. The statement comes after a Washington Post report stating that the Pentagon is preparing for ground operations lasting several weeks, but without a full-scale invasion. The US military has sent the amphibious operations ship Tripoli, with approximately 3,500 sailors and marines, to the region.
