It's Not a Montage - It's Decay

Former Rector of the University of Cyprus, Konstantinos Christofidis, in his article, strongly criticizes President Christodoulides, accusing him of putting his personal dealings above the country's interests. He believes that his governance endangers the country and that his departure is urgently needed for institutional self-defense. Mr. Christofidis refers to the leaked video with Mr. Charalambous and Mr. Lakotrypis, emphasizing the former's naivety and the latter's reckless speech, who was responsible for the energy sector. He points out that easy access for businessmen to the Presidential Palace and immediate answers depending on their “gifts” are degenerative for democracy. He expresses concern for national security, as the President's close associates appear to be easily compromised and reveal state secrets. He emphasizes that the timing of the video leak is suspicious and that the President should have protected the country. Mr. Christofidis concludes that the time for silence is over and the time for accountability has come, as the country can no longer endure.
