Javier Bardem Protests War and Expresses Support for Palestine at the Oscars

Actor Javier Bardem used his appearance at the Oscars to express his opposition to war and declare his support for Palestine, shouting “No to war, free Palestine” from the stage. He also wore pins with anti-war messages, one of which he had worn in 2003 during the Iraq War. Bardem accused former President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu of creating an “illegal war” that is causing great destruction and death. The second pin he wore symbolized the resistance of the Palestinian people, depicting a drawing by a 10-year-old child stating that he will not grow up until he returns to his homeland.
