Kremlin Denies FT Report on Waning Ukraine Peace Process

The Kremlin has denied a report by the Financial Times stating that the peace process in Ukraine is waning due to the attention of US President Donald Trump being focused on Iran. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia has a different view of Trump's attitude towards peace talks. Peskov said that Trump's recent statements suggest the opposite, as the US president is strongly calling on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reach an agreement. Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with Zelensky and questioned his offer to help the US shoot down drones. Russia remains interested in continuing talks to end the war, but the location and time for the next round of negotiations remain unclear. In addition, Peskov noted that rising oil prices will generate additional revenue for Russian oil companies and the Russian budget.
