Large Police Operation – 31 Irregular Migrants Arrested, 7 Deported

The Cyprus Police conducted a large-scale operation to identify third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus, resulting in the arrest of 31 individuals of various nationalities. Seven of those arrested have already been deported, while procedures for the deportation of the remaining individuals are underway. The operation, carried out across all provinces with the participation of the Alien and Immigration Service and the Green Line Monitoring and Migration Control Sub-Directorate, is part of a long-term strategy to address migration flows. Over the past two years, a total of 21,834 migrants have been repatriated through voluntary and compulsory returns, while the number of arrivals has decreased significantly, from 17,434 in 2022 to 2,444 in 2025.
