Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were injured during the alleged US military operation to capture him on January 3rd in Caracas. Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello stated that Flores was injured in the head and body, while Maduro in the leg. The death toll from the US operation has risen to 100, with a similar number of injured. Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodríguez declared a seven-day national mourning period, describing the attack as “horrific” and relations with the US as “stained.”
