Before New Year's Eve, a two-day "detox" is suggested to feel lighter and more energized. December 29th focuses on "resting" the digestive system with warm water and lemon, yogurt with fruit and nuts, vegetable soup or boiled vegetables with fish/egg, and chicken salad. Salt, sugar, and alcohol are avoided. December 30th prepares the body for New Year's Eve with a banana-spinach smoothie, rice/quinoa with vegetables and chicken/legumes, and an omelet or soup. Reducing coffee and maintaining high hydration is recommended. Generally, it is good to avoid fats, fried foods, lots of sweets, processed meats, and too much salt during these two days, not for permanent deprivation, but to enjoy them at New Year's Eve without discomfort. A light diet during New Year's Eve will allow you to enjoy the evening without guilt.
