Minister of Energy to Sign Agreement in Cairo for Development of Gas Discoveries in Cypriot EEZ

The Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianou will travel to Cairo to sign a framework agreement for the development of natural gas discoveries in the Cypriot EEZ, as part of the EGYPES 2026 exhibition. During the visit, he will meet with the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the CEO of TotalEnergies Patrick Pouyanné. The agreement concerns the development of the 'Cronos' and 'Aphrodite' fields. The Minister will also participate in a ministerial discussion on energy priorities and national security, as well as meetings with representatives of BP, Arcius and ExxonMobil. This agreement marks a significant development in energy cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt.
