Netanyahu Rejects Claims of Leading Trump into Conflict with Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected allegations that Israel attempted to lead the United States into a conflict with Iran, dismissing them as "ridiculous." In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu emphasized that Donald Trump is a strong leader who makes decisions based on the interests of America and future generations, without needing to be persuaded by anyone. These statements came in response to a New York Times report claiming that Netanyahu played a central role in trying to push Trump into war with Iran, exerting pressure for months. According to the report, Netanyahu had begun discussing the prospect of attacking Iranian missile facilities as early as December, during a visit to Trump's residence in Florida. Netanyahu argued that Trump understands the threat posed by Iran and does not need to be "led" into any action. He expressed the view that Tehran is "dedicated to your destruction" and that Trump recognizes this danger. The New York Times report, based on testimonies from American and Israeli officials, diplomats, and intelligence members, presented the US decision to attack Iran as a significant victory for Netanyahu. Netanyahu reiterated his belief that Trump makes decisions based on the interests of America and is not influenced by external pressures. He stressed that Tehran poses a real threat and that Trump is aware of it.
