New Grant Scheme for Electromobility in Cyprus to Extend Until 2030

Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafiadis, presented the progress of the Ministry's policies and projects for 2025, with an emphasis on electromobility, road projects, ports, airports, and public transport. The Ministry's policy is based on four pillars: faster transport, green transition, better infrastructure, and improved citizen service. Regarding electromobility, a new grant scheme is being developed that will be valid until 2030, as the transition to electric vehicles still requires state support due to the high cost. In 2025, grants totaling 21.5 million euros were awarded for approximately 2,500 electric vehicles. The goal is to have 85,000 electric vehicles on the roads by 2030, but this depends on international developments and prices.
