OAΥ Warns of New Misleading SMS, How They Trick Citizens

Published January 19, 2026, 12:35

The Health Insurance Organization (HIO) is warning about new misleading SMS messages being sent to GESY beneficiaries. These messages, which appear to be from GESY, ask recipients to follow a link to "correct" their personal details. The HIO emphasizes that it has no connection to these messages and urges citizens not to open the link and to delete them immediately. Similar incidents have been recorded in the past, in November and December, but continue to occur. The HIO reminds the public that it will never request personal data, passwords, or payment details via SMS, nor will it ask citizens to make any financial transactions through links.
