Optimistic Forecast for Water Inflows to Dams Until End of March

The Water Development Department (WDD) expresses optimism for good water inflows to dams until the end of March, as forecasts predict rain from Thursday onwards. The current situation is better compared to last year, with inflows in the last three days reaching 2 million cubic meters. The WDD's first technical engineer, Marios Chatzikostis, stated that an increase in flow to the dams is expected, with inflows of over one million cubic meters per day from Thursday onwards. It is estimated that water reserves will exceed last year's lows, while the situation in the dams is better compared to last year, especially in the province of Nicosia. Specifically, the Tamassos, Klerou and Solia dams have increased water levels, while the Vizakia, Xyliatos and Kalopanagiotis dams show significant improvement compared to last year.
