Over 600 Workers Express Interest in Repatriation Through Tax Incentives

Over 600 workers currently employed abroad have expressed interest in repatriating to Cyprus, taking advantage of the tax incentives and facilities offered by the government to attract skilled workers and the return of Cypriots. The Ministry of Finance reports that the measure appears to be effective, as many Cypriots wish to return to Cyprus after gaining experience abroad. The bill currently under discussion in the Parliamentary Committee on Finance provides for an increase in the tax exemption from 20% to 25% for returning workers, with a maximum amount of €25,000 per year, provided they have worked abroad for at least seven years and have an annual income of over €30,000.
