Paphos Desalination Plant Expansion Targeted for Summer Completion

The goal is to expand the capacity of the Kouklia Desalination Plant to at least 25,000 cubic meters of water per day by the summer, according to the President of the Paphos Water Board, Charalambos Pittokopitis. The issue was raised at a recent province-wide meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, who gave clear instructions to immediately advance the procedures. Mr. Pittokopitis stated that he has communicated with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panagiotou, who informed him that she has instructed the Water Development Department to proceed with the necessary designs. The expansion of the plant is crucial to meet the increased needs of the Paphos province for water resources. In addition, a visit from a Water Development Department official is expected in Paphos and Polis Chrysochous to identify suitable locations for the operation of a new desalination plant in the Polis Chrysochous Municipality. The visit will take place in the presence of the Mayor, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the project.
