Patriarchate Rejects Second Appeal from Bishop of Tychikos

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has rejected a second appeal from Bishop Tychikos regarding the decision of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus to suspend him. According to the Press Spokesman of the Holy Archbishopric, Christakis Eustathiou, the Holy Synod of Cyprus is now focusing on restructuring its statutes and electing a new Metropolitan of Paphos. The Church of Cyprus has previously stated that Bishop Tychikos did not accept the initial decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and attempted to challenge it through the courts. There is also a belief that Bishop Tychikos may be guided by third parties to make wrong choices, and the Holy Synod does not intend to engage further with his actions. The rejection of the appeal was published in the newspaper Phileleftheros.
