Peyia Murder: Developments in the Investigation and Court Testimony

Police have made four additional arrests in connection with the murder of a 41-year-old man in Peyia. The suspects, aged 25 to 34, face charges of conspiracy, aggravated assault, malicious damage, weapons possession, and carrying an offensive weapon. They are expected to be released pending further summons. The 29-year-old previously arrested remains in custody for eight days. According to the Police, the violent incident is linked to personal disputes arising from posts on social media. The victim, a Bulgarian national, succumbed to his injuries at Paphos General Hospital, with a knife lodged in his abdomen. The investigation revealed that the 29-year-old admitted to stabbing the victim but claims he did not intend to kill him. The Court approved his detention, finding reasonable suspicion. Testimony from the investigating officer indicates that the individuals involved had traveled from Limassol to Peyia to resolve a misunderstanding. During the incident, the victim allegedly damaged the suspect's vehicle, leading to the fatal injury.
