Police Unions to Pursue Legal Action Against Arnautis' Shift Decision – May Appeal to President

Following the decision by Police Chief, Themistos Arnautis, to change the working hours of over 1,000 police officers, police unions are preparing legal action. The Cyprus Police Association (CPA) has already sent a letter to the Joint Police Committee to examine the issue, and a meeting with the Minister of Justice, Kostas Fytiris, has been scheduled. Police officers believe the change in schedule infringes on their constitutional rights and are considering legal recourse. Additionally, they are planning meetings with parliamentary parties and potentially with the President of the Republic to express their objections. Despite preparing for legal action, the CPA assures full compliance with the instructions of the Police Chief.
