Prison Sentences of up to 9 Years for Drug Cases in Limassol and Larnaca

Three men were sentenced to prison terms for drug-related offenses tried in Limassol and Larnaca. In Limassol, the 32-year-old was sentenced to nine years in prison and the 26-year-old to three and a half years, for a case involving 9 kilograms of cannabis, 52 grams of cocaine and firecrackers. The case was investigated by the YKAN in August 2024. Other individuals were arrested, while two remain wanted. In Larnaca, the 31-year-old was sentenced to six years in prison for possessing 1 kilogram and 72 grams of cannabis at the airport, as well as an additional 57 grams of cannabis resin found in his home. He was arrested in October 2025. Both cases were investigated by the YKAN branches in Limassol and Larnaca respectively, following a check and indication from the Customs Department.
