Putin to Convey Concerns to Iran Regarding Attacks on Oil Infrastructure

Russian President Vladimir Putin will convey to Iran the concerns of Arab leaders regarding attacks on oil infrastructure, according to the Kremlin. Putin had telephone conversations with four leaders of Gulf countries, offering to use Russia's relations with Iran to de-escalate tensions. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin will make every effort to contribute to reducing tensions. Putin expressed his condolences to the family of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but there has been no further contact with an Iranian leader. Putin has not spoken with US President Donald Trump and there are no plans for a conversation at this time. The Kremlin has not found evidence to prove that Iran was developing nuclear weapons, despite claims by the US and Israel. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called for an immediate cessation of hostilities by all parties, emphasizing that the consequences of the attack on Iran are being felt around the world.
