Published December 30, 2025, 16:22

The Deputy Ministry of Culture has announced the results of the THYMELI Scheme for funding professional theatre productions for the first half of 2026. A total of 27 applications were submitted by 18 theatre organizations, of which 5 are newly established, with one application deemed invalid. The Deputy Ministry expressed its satisfaction with the improvement in the quality of the applications and the increase in co-productions (8 applications, of which 5 were approved), indicating the benefits of collaboration. The applications were evaluated by a five-member committee based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria. The 16 applications with the highest scores will receive state funding, taking into account limitations on the number of proposals per organization and the total number of approved productions. Additionally, priority will be given to productions that will be presented on tour, to the staging of Cypriot works, or that will include inclusion initiatives. Selected organizations will receive written notification of their ranking and score, and will have until January 16, 2026, to accept or reject the grant. The final list of grant amounts will be published after the acceptance/rejection process is completed.
