Russian Attack Damages Energy Infrastructure in Southern Ukraine

A Russian attack caused damage to industrial, port, and energy facilities in the Ukrainian region of Odesa overnight, causing power outages in various settlements. Regional Governor Oleh Kiper stated that the fires that broke out were quickly extinguished and there were no casualties. Critical infrastructure is operating on backup power. The city of Ismail, a major port on the Danube, came under a “massive” drone attack. Simultaneously, the Romanian Ministry of Defense is searching for debris from drones that reportedly fell near the village of Plauru, on the opposite bank of the Danube. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian air defense forces shot down 206 Ukrainian drones, including 43 in the Moscow region.
