Screen Time Linked to Mental Health Issues in Children

A new study conducted in the US with over 50,000 children found that time spent by children in front of screens for more than four hours a day is associated with an increased risk of mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and behavioral problems. Physical activity emerged as the strongest protective factor, reducing the likelihood of these problems by up to 39%. Researchers emphasize that early intervention for depression is important, as treatment at a young age can be more difficult and have side effects.
