Seven Flu-Related Deaths Reported in Cyprus

Seven patients have died from the flu in Cyprus since the start of the epidemic season. Most of the deceased were elderly individuals with underlying health conditions who were hospitalized in hospitals within the surveillance network. A total of 98 people have been hospitalized due to the flu, 85 in state and 13 in private hospitals. The Ministry of Health held an emergency meeting to better coordinate efforts to address the surge in seasonal infections, with the participation of representatives from the OKYPY, the OAY, and private hospitals. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that the health system is prepared and calls on citizens to follow protective measures, such as vaccination and mask-wearing.
