Significant Delay for New Archaeological Museum – Operation Expected in Mid-2029

The operation of the new Archaeological Museum of Cyprus is expected in the second half of 2029, according to information received by the Parliamentary Control Committee during its visit to the construction site. The project, characterized by its unique architecture and increased difficulty, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027, but will require an additional 18 months to transport and install the exhibits. The Deputy Minister of Culture emphasized the unique nature of the project, which will also include a public garden, and expects it to attract a significant number of visitors. The old Archaeological Museum will be preserved and utilized for other exhibitions.
