Sloviansk: Woman and 11-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Russian Strikes

The city of Sloviansk in eastern Ukraine suffered a devastating blow as a woman and her 11-year-old daughter were killed in a Russian bombardment. Local authorities also reported seven injuries, including a 7-year-old girl. The governor of the region denounced that Russian forces are committing new war crimes in the area, which is under constant shelling. The Donetsk region, where the fiercest fighting is taking place, is one of the areas that Russia seeks to annex. Sloviansk was similarly occupied in 2014 by separatists, but was liberated by the Ukrainian army. Russian forces are now 15 kilometers away from the city, which has experienced a significant population decrease. Meanwhile, pro-Russian officials in the Zaporizhzhia region report that two people were killed by Ukrainian forces.
