Spatial Sound – Body Architecture Workshop by Nea Kinisi

Nea Kinisi Dance Groups, Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus is organizing a workshop entitled “Spatial Sound – Body Architecture” on February 28, 2026, at the Limassol Municipal Dance Center. The workshop will be led by Maria Kamperi and Dimitris Yasemidis (ENGRAM KOKORO). The workshop is aimed at professionals in the performing arts, such as dancers and musicians, and focuses on the embodiment of musical form and the architectural perception of movement. The methodology is based on the creations of Kamperi and Yasemidis and is inspired by Iannis Xenakis. Through score-based exercises, participants will create original movement material in direct dialogue with live sound, where music will function as an equal partner to the body. The geometry of movement, rhythm, silence as a structural element, and composition in space will be explored. The workshop will last three hours (4:30 PM – 7:00 PM) and those interested can contact Nea Kinisi at [email protected] for more information and registration.
