Stefanos, Omonia, the Green Line and the 'Fifty-Six' They Waited For

During the parliamentary session, the General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, submitted two bills aimed at restricting the uncontrolled purchase of properties by third-country nationals. The discussion also included humorous references to the new DIPA MP, Giorgos Pentintaex, and the DISY MP, Hadjiyiannis, with the latter calling Stefanou a 'comrade'. Stefanou also intervened in a discussion regarding the name 'Green Line', pointing out that the correct term is 'Ceasefire Line'. He stated that there was no issue with the color green or Omonia, emphasizing his environmental awareness. MP Pentintaex positively commented on Stefanou's proposals, while also expressing the view that measures should have been taken earlier. He jokingly remarked about many people waiting for him to legislate on the matter. The Chairman of the Interior Committee, Aristos Damianou, made a similar humorous reference, linking the number of MPs (55) to Pentintaex's name (56), implying that progress required his presence.
