Student Grant Applications to Begin After Legislative Changes

The Grants and Scholarships Service (GSS) of the Ministry of Finance announced that the submission of applications for state student grants for the academic year 2025-2026 will begin after the passage of pending legislative changes in the House of Representatives. These changes provide for an increase in income categories by €5,000, an increase in student grants by 10% for families with an annual income of up to €44,000, and the removal of income and asset criteria for families with more than 5 dependent children. The Ministry of Finance calls on interested parties to prepare in advance for the submission of applications, which will be submitted exclusively by the parents or legal guardians of students. A prerequisite is the registration of applicants in the electronic service CY Login, which provides secure access to government services. Applicants must create an account at CY Login via the link https://cge.cyprus.gov.cy/cyloginregistration/register. In addition, information regarding the application submission process and the necessary supporting documents is available on the GSS website. The delay in the start of application submissions is due to the pending vote on the legislative changes, which aim to improve the criteria and increase support for students and their families.
