Taxi Drivers Announce New 24-Hour Strike - Threat of Indefinite Action

The Pan-Cypriot Confederation of Urban Taxi Drivers (POAT) has announced a 24-hour strike from 6:00 am on Tuesday to 6:00 am on Wednesday. The strike is a result of the failure of relevant authorities to respond to a previous four-hour work stoppage that took place on January 13, 2026. POAT warns that if there is no response, it will proceed with an indefinite strike from Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The taxi gathering points during the strike will be at Larnaca and Paphos airports, as well as at the Potamos Germasogeias parking area in Limassol.
