“The Grape Cluster” Brings New Life to the Wine Villages

The Limassol Tourist Development and Promotion Company (ETAL) has created five new thematic photo spots titled “The Grape Cluster” in the wine villages of Limassol, aiming to highlight the area and boost tourism, especially after the devastation caused by the July wildfires. These spots, located in the villages of Omodos, Mandria, Koilani, Pakhna and Lofou, incorporate the artistic work of Giorgos Mourouzis and showcase the region's winemaking tradition. The initiative, supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, aims to attract visitors and promote the authentic identity of the wine villages, while also being part of a broader strategy to support mountain communities facing demographic and developmental challenges. ETAL seeks to promote the wine wealth of the region and create modern points of interest that will be attractive to tourists and effectively promoted on social media. The creation of the photo spots contributes to the promotion of the wine villages as destinations for cultural and gastronomic tourism, with an emphasis on tradition and local production. The goal is to increase visits, extend the length of stay of tourists, and strengthen the local economy. The new spots are gentle interventions that blend harmoniously into the natural and cultural environment of the communities, without altering their traditional character. The artistic depiction of “The Grape Cluster” acts as a unifying theme that connects the villages, creating a recognizable identity for the area. The choice of this symbol draws inspiration from the viticultural heritage of the wine villages. This initiative is part of a coordinated plan of action to promote the region and address the challenges faced by mountain communities. ETAL recognizes the need to diversify the tourism product and to leverage local resources and cultural heritage. Highlighting the wine villages as an alternative destination contributes to the sustainable development of the area and strengthens the local economy.
