Three Britons Arrested at Paphos Airport with Large Quantities of Cigarettes

Three British nationals, two women aged 36 and 42, and a 47-year-old man, were arrested at Paphos Airport for illegally transporting large quantities of cigarettes. A search of their luggage revealed a total of 191 cartons of cigarettes, lacking the required health warnings in Greek and Turkish, indicating smuggling. The 36-year-old was released after paying an out-of-court settlement of €3,000, while the 42-year-old and 47-year-old will appear before the Paphos District Court to consider their detention for four days to facilitate police investigation. The case involves violations of customs laws and the smuggling of tobacco products.
